2.8 vs 16 1. The body part to relate aperture is the pupil of the eye. 2. The smaller the aperture, the higher the f-stop. The higher the aperture, the smaller the f-stop. 3. Aperture impacts the depth of speed, by having a wider aperture, you have a greater depth perception and with a smaller aperture, you have less depth (hence the blurred background). high shutter speed low shutter speed A. photo manipulation and ethics

1. People have been changing images since the start of the camera. This raises the question of how far can you go before can you change the image too much. Photographers have the choice of where the line needs to be drawn before a photo is just art. 2. The newspapers have a very strict guidelines for editing photos. No colors can be altered and photo proofs have to be turned in before the final copy is printed. 3. I think cosmetic changes are the only acceptable changes to a photo. Although I think that the truly good photos don't need to be touched upped and changed, trying to make a photo more aesthetically pleasing is okay. 4. I think this is the most unethical photo. The actual photo is only made darker, but i think the meaning is deeper than that. The person that edited this photo made it change peoples opinion of him. They actually made him appear scary and guilty. 5.   I think this is most ethical of photoshop. You can still recognize that it is Kim Kardashian, b

academic shoot reflection and critique

1. Most of the classrooms that I went into were not very interesting because the students were doing an essay. 2. I used the focus the most of the technical aspects. My photo of the chalkboard was up close and so i had to get the focus just right in order to come out with a clear image. 3. I would have taken my photos keeping in mind ALL of the six rules. 4. Going to my art class was a really good idea because I got some good action photos of people doing artwork. 5. I think simplicity is a easy rule to follow because a lot of it has to do with what angle you take the photo. 6. Avoiding mergers is the hardest rule because there are so many things that can get in the way or behind your subject. 7. I think that lines is what i will have the most trouble on because the lines need to lead to the subject. http://iqrasphotojournalismblog.blogspot.com/ 1. All her her photos look very candid and natural. 2. I like the angles she uses, she changes them up in order to make it interest

Avoid Mergers 1. I avoided mergers in this photos. The guy in the middle has light hair stands out against the wall. 2. My subject is the guy in the middle, he is framed by other students. 3. Yes, he is in the middle and your eyes go right to him. 4. I would have tried to make him more in focus. Balance 1. I used balance in this photo with the two girls. 2. My subject is the girl on the left. She is very noticeable by the color of her hair. 3. You can notice her because she is the only person in the frame. 4. You can see the subject clearly. Rule of Thirds 1. My rule I used was the rule of thirds. 2. My subject is the guy on the left. 3. You can tell he is the subject because he is in front of the background of plants. 4. I made my subject very clear with a plain background. Simplicity 1. In my photo I used simplicity for my rule. 2. My subject is the table and everything on it. 3. You can see the subject is the table because I focused on it

THE STORY I think this photo tell the best story. The photographer really captured the sad emotion of the people. I think something bad happened and people have gathered together. It tells a great story. ACTION/EMOTION This is a photo that shows great emotion. The photographer took the photo at just the right time to show the people in mid laugh. It has great character to it. FILLING TH FRAME This photo has a lot going on. The red color of the room frames the photo. The water floating in mid air makes an interesting and busy photo. PART 2 I chose a photo of a swimmer in mid stroke. The water that is flowing over her head is smooth and flawless. Where her hand meets the water, it is thrown up into the air, a thousand tiny droplets thrust into the air. 1 I chose this photo because of the contrast of the smooth water with the tiny drops that are spraying in the air.  I like the diversity of the water in the picture and how it was caught in mid-stroke. 2 This photo has a

post shoot reflection

1. The biggest challenge to getting good photos was time. In order to set up a good photo, it takes a long time. Also, trying to get good lighting in the hall way was difficult. 2. Trying to get a good focus on my photo was my main thought. One of y photos is very close to a window with black lines on it, but i focused on the room on the other side. It was difficult to focus on the room on the other side of the window because the camera wanted to focus on the window in front of it. 3. I would be sure to avoid mergers. Its very easy with the lines of the school in the background. I mostly like to take photos of people, so thats something that i need to be more aware of. 4. I would try to take action photos again. I really liked how different they looked from everyones. I also really liked the flags the i took. I think the contrast of the flags with the gray hall way is interesting. 5. I achieved the rule of thirds. In my photos, I made sure to off center the subjects in order to

Avoid Mergers: This photo is a great example of mergers. Th police officer on the right has a pole coming out of his head. This is a good photo that captures that moment, but the background shows a merger. Lines: I chose this photo because of the background. The lines of the building put an emphasis on the falling man. Thought the lines are symmetrical, the shadow makes half of the photo darker and the other half very light. Rule of Thirds: In this photo, you can see an example of the rule of thirds. The first building is centered to the left. The explosion make it an off balance photo. The next photo is to the right with smoke billowing out of it. The second building is to the far right. Balance: This photo is balanced because of the three men and the flagpole. The two men on the the side are balanced. The men and flagpole are the center focal point. Simplicity: This photo is very creative and shows simplicity. The ash and debris from the explosion make the photo hav

I was shocked that this photo was taken. To be able to take a photo like that must have been very difficult. I didn't like that the journalist asked the sister of the man they thought was "fallling man " if it was him AT HIS FUNERAL. I think the photo captures a horrible time, yet how he falls is so peaceful and almost calm. I was surprised how rude people acted about the photo. I don't think it can be counted as suicide and I think its sad that people acted like that.

camera history

1. Inside a dark room, a tiny whole projected the outside scene on the wall, upside down. The hole acted as a lens, projecting and focusing the image. 2. The first high quality lenses were made. 3. He added film. The modern camera now had a dark box, film, and a glass lens. 4. Cameras still use glass lenses. 5. Modern cameras use a SD card to hold the images. 6.Auto mode is controlled all by the camera. The flash and exposure are controlled by the cameras as well. Program is like auto mode but you can control more settings. 7. Portrait blurs out the background so it can focus on the subject. 8. Sports mode is used to take photos of moving objects. The camera uses the highest shutter speed to catch the object in focus. 9. Half pressing the camera will focus it while you move the camera to find the composition. 10. This button turns off the flash. That way you can take photos in natural light. 11. This is the symbol for auto flash. This mode allows the camera to enabl
