africa

1. I think it is so amazing how the photographer could get that close to wild animals. And all the animals are poised and not moving. I also think his choice to make the photos black and white completely changed the mood of the pictures.

2.

3.This photo shows a flat field with several giraffes. What caught my eye in this photo was how the light came through the clouds. I think it makes the photo look very angelic like. The angle he took this photo I also liked because it made the giraffes look like they were so tall that they touched the sky.

4. This photo has balance in it as well as the rule of thirds. The giraffe that is focused on it in the right side of the photo, off-centered.

5.  Nick Brant uses a Pentax 67 with a 120mm lens.

6. He takes his photos to show the animals before their home is destroyed. He likes the look of the animals in their natural habitat.

7. He hopes to help save the animals habitat by showing the beauty of the animals before their homes are destroyed.

8. "I want my images to achieve two things in this regard - to be an elegy to a world that is tragically vanishing, to make people see what beauty is disappearing. Also, to try and show that animals are sentient creatures equally as worthy of life as humans."
